Infographic on Physiotherapy: Pre Natal, Post Natal and Pelvic Pain

A woman's body goes through several changes during her pregnancy, and some of these changes come with complications, discomfort, and pain such as a range of pelvic, orthopedic and neurological syndromes during prenatal and postnatal stages. Most common conditions are incontinence, pelvic pain, bladder prolapse, abdominal separation and more.

Going to a physiotherapist can help you alleviate some of these symptoms you may be experiencing, this is something that pregnant women don’t realize; when in fact over two-thirds of pregnant women experience back pain, one-fifth experience pelvic pain and over 40% experience urinary incontinence in their first pregnancy – with half remaining incontinent at eight weeks postpartum, and one-third experiencing a new onset of incontinence after childbirth.

Physiotherapists create personalized programs, primarily for you to target these specific issues and help you get some relief. These physiotherapy programs you sign up for can also be combined with your primary healthcare provider wherein the detailed assessment findings can be shared with the participant’s primary & pregnancy health care providers to give you a better pregnancy experience.
